Childhood

  • 3 Months - 4 Years

Groups

  • 1 baby group (0.3-24 months) and 2 mixed age groups (2-4 years)

We attach particular importance to individual care and ensure that the small children feel safe and loved. Our experienced teachers accompany the children in their first steps, in social interaction and explore the world together in a playful way.

Overview

Children start to explore the world around them as soon as they are born. At Kidzee, the play group curriculum enables children to continue their exploration. Early experiences in the first few years of life are critical for acquisition of skills as maximum brain development happens during this period. The objective of the program is to train parents to help them foster their child’s development by learning and practising child development through a scientific approach. This program will foster social, aesthetic and motor skills in young children. This program helps infants and toddlers develop their latent language and maths skills through the Glenn Doman method.

Art

Physical Education

The main goal for our pre-kindergarten classes is to focus on their basic locomotive skills

Baby group

Pedagogical principles of the baby group

It is very important to us that the needs of small children for closeness and security are satisfied. That is why we chose Montessori and Emmi-Pikler approach for the baby group, which is similar to Montessori method.

Mixed-age group

Pedagogical principles of the toddler group

Children between the ages of 24 months and 4 years want to move freely, which is why we spend a lot of time exploring nature. In the group rooms, our little ones have the opportunity to experiment a lot with Montessori materials.

Key learning areas

Our daycare center has these educational areas that promote the holistic development of the children

Music, Art and Creativity

We promote the artistic and creative development of children. We offer music, singing, dancing, painting, handicrafts and other creative activities. In this way, the children can receive perceptual experiences and absorb them with all their senses.

Language and Communication

Our daycare center promotes the children's bilingual language development (German and English), both in the area of speaking as well as in the area of hearing and understanding. This includes activities such as storytelling, singing songs, playing with language and learning vocabulary.

Body, Health and Exercise

The main goal of our educational work is to encourage physical activity in young children and to provide children with information about healthy eating and healthy living.

Nature, Technology and Mathematics

Children are interested in the environment and learn about nature. In our educational work we are constantly concerned with plants, animals, weather, but also technical or mathematical aspects such as counting, shapes, comparing sizes and quantities.

Social Development

The focus is on promoting social skills such as togetherness, empathy, self-confidence, respect, exchange and conflict resolution. With us, children get to know multicultural exchange and get to know different cultures.

Media

We offer an inspiring environment with various materials such as: books, radio plays, table theater, hand puppets, CDs. We are fundamentally open to the use of digital media, but also critical.

Settling in

In our day-care center, acclimatization takes place in phases

The adjustment period is extremely important for the child, the parents and the educators. We attach great importance to a pleasant, individualized acclimatization process that is optimal for the child. The child is slowly introduced to the daily routine according to their needs and can be accompanied by a parent.

The acclimatization takes place in the following phases:

1. Kontaktphase
2. Trennungsphase
3. Stabilisierungsphase

This is followed by a final meeting in which the settling-in process is discussed with the parents.

Help me to do it myself

We are guided by the principles of Maria Montessori

With the support of the teacher, the child decides what, where, how, with whom and for how long they want to do something. The child is given the opportunity to activate independence and to concentrate fully on the game.

The Montessori method was founded and developed by the Italian doctor and educator Maria Montessori (1870-1905). In her work with children, she has also found that children's learning outcomes are much greater when children are able to choose their own activities. Hence, she developed her educational system.

The Montessori material consists of:

Daily life

By playing with the Montessori material, children develop a sense of responsibility for the environment. The exercises help the child to independently take the material from the Montessori shelf in order to put it back again.

Sensory material

Working with the sensory material awakens the child's mind and senses. The special feature of this material is the isolation of properties and senses. There is a material with a different level of difficulty for each sensory area.

Mathematics materials

The mathematical material corresponds to the sensorimotor needs of the child and is closely related to the sensory material. The child experiences and learns quantities, geometric bodies, volumes, linear mass, hollow mass.

Language material

The child's vocabulary is shaped by its environment. It speaks in simple sentences. Verses, songs, rhymes, conversations, picture books, stories and themes - arrangements support it in its language development. The formation of terms expands the vocabulary.

Man and Environment / Forest

By dealing with the environment (space, earth, geography, the child's environment, history, plants and animals, etc.), the child acquires an idea of the close relationship between nature and living beings and of the special, responsible position of man in the universe .
